Random Number

"Random Number" is the quirky, glitchy and quizzically philosophical lead single for my “STARSEEDS WANTED: enquire within” project.

Cowritten with producer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Wheeler, “Random Number” is a playful adventure into the chance and fortunes life offers, through every choice we’re faced with. Built initially upon vocal samples casually recorded during my first visit to Michael’s studio in early February 2024, inspiration seemed to hit almost instantly. One week later, Michael sent through a rough mix with vocal melodies constructed from those recordings – which I was immediately taken with and began writing lyrics for. The final mix was then decided and lead vocals recorded during my next studio visit in mid-February, with the final Master ready to go by early March. This was very possibly the smoothest, quickest and yet most organic track I’ve ever done. In a way, it seemed to create itself and I was just along for the ride!

“Random Number” really feels like another benchmark of the growth I’m continually pursuing, and I hope you enjoy listening to it at least as much as I’ve enjoyed offering it into the world. :)
